Dimora delle Balze

Coro Spezzato

Set in the wing of the estate that once housed the farmers and their families that worked the land for the noble Barone family, the Coro Spezzato room is rendered in a calming palette of forest green and slate grey, the spacious room hosts a queen-sized bed dressed in sumptuous Signoria Firenze sheets, traditional ceramic vessels and wild plants that call to mind the Sicilian landscape, A Paola Navone-designed armchair can be transformed into a single bed, allowing the 30sqm suite to host up to three guests.

The Coro Spezzato room was inspired by the work of Rosa Barba, an Italian artist born in Agrigento who now lives and works in Berlin. Coro Spezzato, which translates to ‘broken choir’ is a film in which sounds, voices, and colours are not projected simultaneously, as it happens in a normal film, but alternate or overlap. This technique is made possible thanks to the installation of five coordinated projectors, creating an immersive experience for the viewer.
