What was once the farm’s chicken coop a century ago has been transformed into the romantic Eva room. Even now in the bathroom holes in the wall where the hens were once brooding are still visible. Eva, through the original masonry door, has access from the manger where the animals were once watered, which has now become a precious relaxation area with a charming pink sofa. Beneath the vaulted ceiling at the center of the sleeping area is the stunning “I dreamed of you” bed by designer Katrine Ahrens, dressed with lilac-hued sheets by Signoria Firenze. Eva also features a wooden wardrobe by Ahrens alongside a mix of vintage and contemporary furniture. Carved into the stone masonry wall of the bathroom is a luxurious double shower, making the intimate Eva room the perfect place for a couple.
The name Eva is based on a novel by Verga published in 1873, which tells the story of a penniless young painter who arrives in Sicily from Florence in search of his fortune. The novel follows his love affair with the enchanting dancer, Eva, who he meets at a masquerade party, followed by his journey from rags to riches and back again.
