The Epicurean’s Sicily

The history of Sicilian gastronomy is like a fairy tale that begins with the classic “Once upon a time.” The encounter of the Greek Mediterranean civilization with the local indigenous culture enriched all the arts of yesteryear, including the art of gastronomy. First among all to celebrate its excellence was Epicurus, who in his fragments of gastronomy asserted that he had visited every land and every sea but that in Sicily he found the Good Taste.

Arts and Culture

The coasts of Sicily seem like arms that over the centuries have created invisible routes, pathways and bridges to the other lands that face, all around, the Mediterranean. Sicilian history, culture and artistic richness have deep and firm roots in the extraordinary mixture of influences brought by overseas peoples. Hence temples, shrines, amphitheaters and spectacles that celebrate its wonder to this day.

Natural Wonders

Nature has used the land of Sicily as a blank canvas to be flooded with colors and emotions. In this magnificent setting rise nature parks, reserves and protected areas, land and sea all to be discovered. An idyllic picture with colors of the sea at sunset, the islands silhouetted in the blue summer sea and white beaches. Of a continent, rather than an island, is the immense natural heritage of Sicily.
