Clandestini
Clandestini sits in what was once the home’s defensive turret, equipped with two large windows that allow to enjoy the view of the entire estate, on one side a balcony perch overlooking a boulevard of carob trees, and the saltwater pool of the Dimora, on the other the window overlooking the Manor Court on the surrounding green Val di Noto. The 25sqm room, decorated with a thoughtful mix of antique and contemporary furniture, including a queen-size bed dressed with Signoria Firenze sheets, the balance of the decor allows the majestic view to take center stage.
The name Clandestini was inspired by a 2011 exhibition of paintings and drawings by the artist Giovanni Iudice, who was born in Gela in 1970. Created through a lens of “hyper vision of reality,” Iudice tackles themes of human perseverance through the lens of immigration with a profound sensitivity for his vulnerable subjects.
